Originally opened in 1925, this historic pink landmark has welcomed guests for nearly a century while continuing to offer the elevated hospitality couples expect from a luxury Marriott property. Its location places you within walking distance of the St. Pete Pier, waterfront parks, boutique shopping, museums, and some of the city’s best restaurants, making it an ideal destination for guests traveling to celebrate with you.

The Tea Garden

A garden ceremony in the heart of Downtown St. Pete? Yes, please! This is the iconic Tea Garden that everyone dreams about when getting married at The Vinoy. Picture you and your guests surrounded by lush gardens and colorful florals as you marry the love of your life. You almost don’t need to add additional décor, but if you do, it’s only going to make this space even more breathtaking and unique to your wedding.

The Tea Garden can accommodate up to 200 guests for a ceremony, and I absolutely loved how intimate it felt. It’s such a tranquil escape in the heart of St. Pete. And one of my favorite parts? You have two ceremony backdrops to choose from! Couples can face the existing pergola or turn the ceremony toward the gorgeous fountain with the historic bell tower in the background.

Bayview Terrace

The Bayview Terrace was an absolute gem! Overlooking the St. Petersburg waterfront, this space offers a beautiful blend of lush greenery, iconic Florida palms and sparkling views of Tampa Bay. It’s the perfect setting for couples who want to embrace Florida’s natural beauty while still enjoying the elegance and convenience of a luxury resort.

If you are a boat lover, this is definitely the ideal ceremony backdrop for you! Whether you envision an intimate ceremony beneath the palms or a lively outdoor reception filled with candlelight, live music, and thoughtful design details, the Bayview Terrace offers a stunning backdrop that allows your wedding vision to take center stage.

Wedding Reception Spaces at The Vinoy

When you first walk into The Vinoy, its historic charm makes the resort feel intimate, but don’t let that fool you. There are so many event spaces tucked throughout the property, ranging from intimate courtyards to grand ballrooms accommodating hundreds of guests. Let’s explore the options based on your wedding style and guest count!

Fred’s

Fred’s is such a cute and intimate space, perfect for rehearsal dinners or smaller weddings of up to 80 guests. What I loved is that you aren’t limited to just one area. You have the adorable outdoor courtyard as well as an indoor event space that could be transformed with cozy lounge furniture, food stations or even your DJ and dance floor after dinner.

This would be especially perfect during those warmer Florida months! You can enjoy dinner outside while still having an indoor space ready to keep the celebration going and, of course, a backup option if Florida weather decides not to cooperate.

Tea Garden

Now imagine the Tea Garden completely transformed for your reception. With space for up to 250 guests, you can create a beautiful outdoor celebration surrounded by the gardens, paired with food stations or a delicious buffet for a more interactive dining experience.

Personally, I immediately pictured a clear-top tent with hanging floral chandeliers and twinkling string lights illuminating the entire garden at night. There is so much potential to make this space feel completely magical!

Sunset Ballroom

This space is for our golf lovers, giving us that historic charm we all love! The Sunset Ballroom is located on picturesque Snell Isle, overlooking the pool, clubhouse and fairways. It blends timeless architectural details with a fresh, refined feel, featuring grand arches, statement chandeliers and plenty of natural light. This ballroom can seat up to 125 guests!

Bayview Terrace

Just like the Tea Garden, Bayview Terrace is another incredible option for an outdoor reception, especially for larger celebrations of up to 350 guests. With this much space, you can get really creative with the floor plan and build different experiences throughout the evening.

I could also see this being an amazing location for a welcome reception, especially for couples planning a full destination wedding weekend in St. Pete. It immediately reminded me of a welcome event we designed for one of our couples, where we brought in custom lounge furniture, multiple bars, dessert stations, string lighting and live entertainment to give guests a little taste of what the wedding weekend had in store.

As I stood on the terrace, I immediately pictured guests sipping signature cocktails during cocktail hour as the sun began to set over the marina. With the downtown skyline just beyond the water and sailboats drifting through the bay, it creates an atmosphere that feels effortlessly romantic and unmistakably St. Pete.

Vinoy Grand Ballroom

The Vinoy Grand Ballroom is the space I think everyone pictures when dreaming of a reception at The Vinoy, and it was easily one of my favorites on the tour! With space for up to 300 guests, it’s a beautiful option for a larger celebration while still feeling elegant and inviting.

The moment you walk in, your eyes immediately go to the stunning Chihuly chandelier hanging in the center of the room. But one of my favorite features is the customizable LED ceiling lighting! You can choose virtually any color to complement your wedding vision and completely transform the feel of the ballroom as the night goes on.

I also loved just how versatile this space is when it comes to the floor plan. There are so many ways you can make the room your own, whether you’re dreaming of something timeless and romantic or a bold, colorful celebration.

Palm Court Ballroom

The Palm Court Ballroom is The Vinoy’s largest indoor event space, with room for up to 500 guests, making it an incredible option for couples planning a larger guest count without sacrificing the elevated ballroom experience. I loved how warm and modern this ballroom felt, while still keeping that elevated Vinoy feel. The neutral tones give you a beautiful blank canvas to really bring your own wedding design and color palette to life.

Another huge perk is the versatility! The ballroom has its own dedicated entrance and private indoor foyer, plus an outdoor terrace, giving you plenty of options for cocktail hour and guest flow throughout the evening. With ceiling rigging points and a spacious floor plan, there’s also so much potential to completely transform this room and make it feel unique to your wedding.
