As we embark on our “new era” of wedding + event planning, I wanted to highlight a program that is near and dear to our hearts – the Central Florida Wedding Association (CFWA). I have been on the Board of Directors for the past 3 years and have learned so much! I started off as their Meeting Planner and am now their Vice President.

Not only do we host monthly networking events throughout Central FL, but we also plan a major conference each year called The Summit! This program is a true passion project as all ten board members come together to plan two full days of education and a party for our local Wedding Pros. The ten board members are made up of talented business owners that all come with their own unique skills and passions – making every event we put on successful! With my role on the board, we’ve had the pleasure of planning the Annual Summits. From logistics to theming to securing incredible vendors that support our vision – it’s been a deeply fulfilling experience from start to finish.

The Summit is CFWA’s flagship annual event—a two-day conference designed to empower wedding professionals through education, networking, and collaboration. Held each August, the Summit features national and local keynote speakers, breakout sessions, and one-on-one mentorship opportunities. It’s a space where industry leaders from across the nation share actionable insights, helping attendees elevate their businesses and foster ethical practices within the wedding community.

In years past, we’ve had our Annual Summit at Mission Resort + Club, DoubleTree Universal, and now for our 2025 Annual Summit, we are heading to tropical paradise at Margaritaville Resort Orlando. This year’s event will take place on August 25–26, 2025, and can you guess the theme?! It’s “Tropical Escape”! Attendees can look forward to immersive education sessions, curated swag bags, delicious meals, and an unforgettable Monday night party—all set against the backdrop of Margaritaville’s island-inspired ambiance.

While I was Meeting Planner, our past themes were Old Florida Inspired meets Miami EDC, Sangria Sunset, and Vegas!!! Each theme was thoughtfully crafted to inspire and energize our attendees, reflecting the creativity and passion that define our industry.

Planning The Summit has been a testament to our expertise in orchestrating large-scale corporate events. From coordinating logistics and designing thematic experiences to collaborating with top-tier vendors, we’ve honed our skills to deliver seamless and impactful events.
